CHAPTER 5
Episode 5: The Final Confrontation
Our quest to restore the true prince led us to a fierce battle at the heart of the palace. As we fought our way through corridors and chambers, a familiar figure emerged from the shadows.
“Hello, sister dear,” Bidemi sneered, brandishing a jeweled dagger. “Did you really think I’d let you ruin everything?”
I faced her, my own weapon at the ready. “Stand down, Bidemi. It’s over.”
She laughed, a bitter sound. “Over? I’m just getting started. Do you have any idea what I’ve sacrificed to get here? I won’t let you take it all away!”
“You don’t have to do this,” I pleaded, remembering the sister I once knew. “Help us make things right.”
For a moment, doubt flickered in Bidemi’s eyes. But then her expression hardened. With a cry of rage, she lunged at me.
Our battle was swift and brutal. Years of resentment and betrayal fueled Bidemi’s attacks, but my conviction gave me strength. In the end, I disarmed her, sending her dagger clattering across the floor.
“It’s not too late,” I said, extending my hand. “Surrender now, and you might still find mercy.”
Bidemi’s eyes darted around, searching for an escape. Then, with a snarl, she reached for a hidden pouch at her belt. “If I can’t have it all, no one will!”
Before I could stop her, she hurled a handful of diamond dust into my eyes. I cried out in pain, temporarily blinded. Through watering eyes, I saw Bidemi sprint towards a window.
“Farewell, sister,” she called back. “May your victory turn to ashes in your mouth!”
With that, she leaped. We rushed to the window, only to see Bidemi disappearing into the maze-like streets of the city below.
Despite the chaos, we pressed on. With Captain Adeola’s guidance, we found and restored the true prince, Akin, to his rightful place on the throne.
